Rapper Jay-Z has been confirmed to perform at the Super Bowl half-time show on February 14, 2027. The NFL announced the lineup on Monday, marking the first time the hip-hop artist has taken the stage at the league’s championship game. The event will be held near Los Angeles.
The announcement follows Jay-Z’s two performances at the Los Angeles stadium last weekend. Those concerts were part of a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. His management company, Roc Nation, has produced the halftime show since 2019 and selects the annual headliner. The NFL did not specify if Jay-Z would perform solo or with guest stars.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he was excited for fans to see the artist’s impact. Goodell noted that he requested Jay-Z perform during their initial agreement with Roc Nation. “When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him,” Goodell said.
Shawn Carter, Jay-Z’s real name, described the opportunity as a milestone. “From 'Reasonable Doubt' to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Carter said. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world's biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
The NFL statement suggested that speculation about guests would begin immediately. “Anticipation as to who Jay-Z might have guest star at halftime for the big game will now kick off,” the league said. “Of course, his wife, Beyoncé, will be atop the list.”
